If you have carpet in your home, you are probably already aware of how problematic it is to keep it clean. Anything that is spilled into it has a tendency to disappear, but this is not the only concern that you could have. If you get moisture trapped underneath the carpet, mold could form very quickly. Mold could grow both on top of your carpet, as well as, underneath the surface, which will be much harder to deal with. In fact, if the infestation gets bad enough, your only solution might be to remove the carpet completely.
If your carpet has been wet for more than 24 hours for any reason, mold might already have started growing, so you should take care to clean up any spills as soon as possible. Don’t leave an open window overnight in a room with carpet, since a rainstorm could dump a lot of water inside your home while you are unaware.
