Concrete garage floors may take a beating, but that doesn’t mean it has to stay that way. While these work surfaces are bound to receive their share of spilled paint, you can remove such accidents with a little know-how. A hint of color might remain if you spill a large amount of paint onto unsealed concrete, but you can still remove most of the mess. If the stain is smaller, put on protective gear and mix one cup of TSP into a gallon of hot water. Then pour the mixture over the paint, and work it into the stain with a stiff-bristled broom. Once you’ve scrubbed the whole stain, rinse the area thoroughly with a hose to remove the chemical.
Paint spills that are larger or have completely dried over time will need a powerful chemical paint stripper. Working with that requires more preparation, including chemical-resistant gloves, and a respirator mask. Make sure to do further research or consult an expert for removing those more stubborn stains.
