You might have heard it said that the kitchen is the heart of the home. While the heart of the home might have moved into the living room for many families, for those that like to cook, the kitchen is still a special place. It is however also a place where you could do a lot of damage to your home if you are not careful.
What do we mean by that? Well, the smoke from your cooking, the water from the sink, and the electrical outlets there all have the capacity for causing damage.
It is important to have a properly functioning kitchen fan to suck the smoke and steam from cooking outside. Your sink should be well sealed, and leaks should be fixed immediately, and electrical receptacles should be GFCI receptacles to protect you from electrocution.
If all of those boxes are checked, you can use your kitchen knowing that you are not harming your home while working in its heart.
