Recently the CDC changed its stand on face masks for the public. At the start of the COVID-19 crisis, they said that wearing a face mask could give people a false sense of security and the constant readjusting of an uncomfortable face mask would make persons more likely to contaminate themselves. Now they are saying that while N95 masks should be reserved for medical professionals, the population, in general, should wear masks when in public so as to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
So, how would you go about making your own mask? For many of us, sewing one is out of the question. Fortunately, the CDC provided a chart both on how to sew your own, as well as how to cut one out of an old t-shirt just using a scissor. That way, you can create a useful mask that could save a life by limiting the spread of the virus.
